Doneil came to TFC from the TFC Academy in 2010. He had joined the academy from Brampton Youth Soccer Club and North Mississauga SC in 2008.

His first team debut came in 2010 and he was the first academy player to sign professional terms with the first team. In 2014 he moved to Apollon Limassol in Cyprus but was loaned back to TFC for the season. The move to Cyprus was seen as a stepping stone to his next move to West Ham United in 2015 and he didnt actually play a single game in Cyprus! He made only one appearance for West Ham before his contract was cancelled by mutual consent in 2017. During the intervening periods he was loaned out to Blackburn Rovers and Danish Superliga team AC Horsens.

In 2018 he returned to MLS with the Vancouver Whitecaps and again was loaned out. This time to Ottawa Fury. the move was to get his fitness back on track and he returned to Vancouver to make 39 appearances for them between 2018 and 2019 MLS seasons.

In 2020 he was transferred to Korean K League side Suwong Samsung Bluewings where he made 41 appearances before returning to MLS once again in 2022, this time with LAFC. He made only 6 appearances for LA before being waived midway through the season.

On July 222nd, 2022, he returned to TFC on a short-term contract as defensive cover and made a further 7 appearances for the reds. He departed the club at the end of the 2022 season and wound up going to Minnesota United for the 2023 season.
